Exemplification

April, 2008.  As has been the case in the past two years, the District will be holding a limited enrollment, make-up exemplification of the fourth degree on April 19, 2008, at St. Gregory the Great Parish in Hamilton Square, New Jersey, just outside of Trenton.  Information on the parish and its location can be found at http://www.stgregorythegreat.org/.  This is a limited enrollment degree, and only those candidates that meet the following criteria will be allowed to submit Form 4s:

  1. Those that registered with the District for the November 2007 degree, by sending me a Form 4 and a candidate fee, but later had to cancel or simply did not show the date of the degree; and

  2. Priests.

With the degree being on a Saturday, it may be much easier for any priest candidates you may have to take the degree, so let’s reach out to them.  20% of the candidates in April 2007 were priests!  Anyone else that wishes to take the degree may do so solely at my discretion.  Navigators should contact me with an explanation of why the proposed candidate cannot take the degree this coming November, as well as an explanation of why they did not register last November.  Under no circumstances is a member to be told he can take the degree in April without my prior approval (unless they meet criteria 1 or 2 above).

Times are currently as follows:

Candidate Registration:  1:30pm
Degree:  2:30pm
Mass: 5pm
Dinner: 6:30pm

The candidate fee is $70, which includes the candidate’s dinner ticket.  Guest dinner ticket prices have not been set yet.  Only assembly checks will be accepted in payment and should be made out to “Master, K of C 4th Degree.”  Candidate fees and dinner fees are all to be sent to me; there is no banquet chairman for this degree.  Candidates must still wear tuxes, no white gloves.  Entertainment will be provided for the ladies by my Lady at a special reception during the degree.  Assemblies must advise me of a count of those Ladies that will be there with their husband’s during the degree itself, so we have a count for their food.

Remember Your Social Baldric.  Supreme has advised that all those wishing to observe the degree must wear a tuxedo and social baldric.  Be sure to bring both (and your traveling card) with you.  Anyone not in a tux in baldric will not be allowed into the chamber.
